Friday Harbor is a quaint, interesting harborside town in the beautiful San Juan Islands, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Northwest, and by some accounts, in the world! Located in the salt waters of Puget Sound a little northwest of Seattle, the islands are blessed to be home to 3 pods (or family groups) of orca whales, which are absolutely magical to experience, either by whale-watch boat or from shoreline parks. We have unmatched scenery, a great climate with abundant sun and lots of fun activities, including some of the best sailing in the world, great biking, hiking, kayaking, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, and much more. We also have historical locations, two National Parks and cultural opportunities such as a Whale Museum, very active community theatre activities and numerous artists' galleries. And of course, we have a wealth of interesting little shops and boutiques. If you ever come to visit our natural island paradise, please drop by Dolphin Arts at 161 N. First Street, near the top of the ferry lines, to see my jewelry "up close and personal." |
